Taught a free motion doodling class today at Top Ryde Hobbysew.  It was fun and the students have gone home full of ideas and the instructions to keep practicing.

Brother sponsored the prize and I will collect my new overlocker next week.

My theme was Sturt Desert Pea, so red and black.
I am just back from the Australian Sewing Guild Convention in Adelaide.

I won the convention collection and was runner up in the accessories category of the competition.

I made this wedding kimono for a sewing competition a few years ago.  I won a prize at the Royal Easter Show in Sydney for it. Now when not folded up in my sewing room it hangs int the church a few times a year. It is made of silk -lots of hand beading, embroidered cockatoos with golden crests  and leaves.  The obi is heavily beaded (again by hand).

This peacock is a gift for my Minister who is soon leaving. It also has been made using free motion stitching and shrinking fabric - to give wo=nderful texture.

This peacock panel has been worked with shrinking fabric, machine beaded and free motion stitched for many hours. I am delighted with the result.

The second banner in the series is for lent.
purple orange and yellow squares have been pieced.
On 18th march we are having a banner making day and I hope to get the congregations to work on a triptech - tree of life, sunflowers and some colourful hand printing.

I have decided to make a series of banners for my Church - St John's Neutral Bay, these will be rainbow colours, the first being a rainbow.
The rainbow is coloured in with fabrics, the sky has free motion stitching around the dove.

Midnight magic jacket. The front has Big Ben striking midnight along with fireworks, which are free motion stitched and beaded to add even more sparkle.
This is now on the way to the US for the semi-finals!!
This is the back of the jacket I have made for a competition this month.
The theme was midnight magic. I have embroidered and beaded fireworks above the Sydney Opera House, Eiffel tower and the London Eye.
